About Historique Couture

Sewing has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. What began as a quiet pastime at my sewing table has grown into a passion that connects me with people all over the world. I have always loved the feel of fine fabrics, the rhythm of the needle, and the way a flat piece of cloth can be transformed into something beautiful, elegant, and full of character.

I write about this passion on the international BERNINA Blog, sharing tips, techniques, and inspiration with fellow sewing enthusiasts. My work also finds its way to new homes through Vinted and Etsy, where I enjoy knowing that each garment will go on to live its own story with someone else.

My creations fall into three main worlds:

  1. Chanel-Style Jackets and Couture
    Through my website, SewingChanelStyle, I share my love for the legendary Chanel-style jacket — a piece that is as timeless as it is intricate to create. Over the years, this site has become a gathering place for couture lovers and sewing aficionados from every corner of the globe. Each jacket I make is a labour of love, combining precise tailoring, high-quality materials, and the kind of craftsmanship that honours the great traditions of Parisian fashion.

  2. LARP and Medieval Clothing
    There is something magical about stepping into another time, and I am drawn to the artistry of medieval clothing for Live Action Role-Playing and historical reenactments. I create these garments with both authenticity and wearability in mind, so they feel as real to the eye as they do comfortable to the wearer.

  3. Victorian, Renaissance, and Baroque Attire
    These are the garments that tell stories of opulence, ceremony, and drama. Whether it is a gown inspired by the grandeur of the Baroque court, a Renaissance doublet, or an elegant Victorian dress, I aim to capture the spirit of the era while ensuring a perfect fit for modern use.

Individual requests:

Although I often sew simply for the joy of it, I also work on commissions, creating garments tailored to individual requests and measurements. My process begins with a conversation — usually by email or through my website www.historiquecouture.eu — where we explore your ideas together. From sketches to fabric selection, each stage is guided by both my experience and your vision.

Modelling & Photography:

As a model myself, I enjoy presenting my creations in photographs that bring them to life. Sometimes I wear the garments, sometimes they are displayed on carefully chosen dress forms, but always with the aim of showing their beauty and detail.

Packaging and presentation:

When you order from me, you can expect the same care in packaging and presentation as in the sewing itself. Each piece is wrapped with attention, accompanied by a small gift, and sent off with the hope that opening it will be a joyful moment. I believe that owning a handmade garment should feel special from the very first moment.
