This is an authentic, handcrafted Viking hood made from thick, high-quality bordeaux red/purple wool — not a costume, not mass-produced, and certainly not factory-made.

Based on the historic Skjoldehamn find, this hood is constructed following traditional Viking-age principles, refined through modern couture craftsmanship. It is designed to be worn, used, and admired — whether at reenactments, festivals, or in cold outdoor settings.

The wool is substantial and warm, offering real protection against wind and cold. The color is a deep wine red with a subtle purple undertone — rich, dignified, and historically appropriate. This is a color that ages beautifully and stands apart from the standard browns and greys often seen in Viking wear.
