This may be one of the most beautiful jackets I have ever made.

I do not say that lightly. As a dressmaker, I make many different garments, but occasionally a piece comes together in such a way that I find myself especially reluctant to let it leave the atelier. This is one of those jackets.

It is a handmade couture bouclé jacket in beautiful shades of brown, beige and soft gold. At first glance, it is quiet and understated. There are no unnecessary decorations or fashionable details competing for attention. Instead, the beauty lies in the fabric, the proportions and the craftsmanship.

This is what I love about quiet luxury: the garment does not need to announce itself. The quality reveals itself when you look more closely.

The jacket is fully lined with a beautiful two-tone silk in green and brown. The wool and silk lining have been carefully quilted together, a traditional couture construction technique that takes considerable time and patience. It gives the jacket a lovely structure while keeping it comfortable and supple to wear.

I have also taken particular care with the traditional tailoring details. The buttonholes are carefully made bound buttonholes, rather than ordinary machine buttonholes, and the beautiful statement buttons were chosen to complement the wonderfully textured bouclé.

Every part of this jacket was made slowly and deliberately in my atelier.

Quiet Luxury

This jacket was designed to be elegant without being loud.

It works beautifully with tailored trousers, a classic skirt or a simple dress. Wear it for business, a special meeting, a gallery visit or an elegant occasion. It can look wonderfully discreet when styled simply, but the craftsmanship and beautiful fabric become much more noticeable when you look closer.

I particularly love the combination of the brown and gold bouclé with the unexpected green and brown silk inside. It is a small secret — something only the wearer really knows about.
