Did you really made it yourself?

The answer is: yes!  On Historique Couture I have made all the clothing, costumes and accessories myself. Every creation is entirely handcrafted, from the very beginning to the finishing touches. This includes selecting the fabrics and trims, researching historical styles, choosing and adapting patterns, cutting and sewing each garment, and carefully adding all final details by hand.

Creating historical clothing is a process that requires patience, craftsmanship and attention to authenticity. I enjoy being involved in every stage of that process, because it allows each piece to have its own character and historical atmosphere. Many garments also include handmade embellishments, accessories or custom details to complete the overall look.

Except for some exceptions, which are expressively stated as not handmade by me, as shown on the page Victorian Lifestyle and some pieces on Medieval Accessories and Props, all items on the website are my own work. The exceptions are genuine vintage and antique items, handmade by others in another lifetime, and preserved as part of historical living and presentation.

So the answer is Yes, yes, yes!  Pure Handmade in a small atelier in the Netherlands!
