A Masterpiece Jester Hat Travels to the USA
Sometimes, a costume piece leaves my atelier and travels much farther than I ever expected.
This beautiful Masterpiece Jester Hat was handmade in my atelier in the Netherlands and eventually found a new home in the USA. It was one of those projects where the details really came together: the shape, the fabrics, the colours, the decorations and, of course, the challenge of making a large jester hat that still feels light enough to wear.
I was especially happy to receive this wonderful review from my American customer on Etsy:
“Incredible! I would highly recommend to anyone!”
Reviews like this mean a great deal to a small handmade atelier. Every costume and hat is made personally by me, rather than mass-produced or dropshipped. From choosing the materials to constructing and finishing the final piece, the work is done here in my atelier in the Netherlands.
I love knowing that something I made by hand here can become part of a LARP character, medieval-inspired costume or fantasy adventure on the other side of the world.
And perhaps that is one of the nicest things about handmade costume work: a little piece of one atelier can travel a very long way.
